connect-the-dots
nyc + pdx + seoul

The "Connect the Dots" tee features various motifs that are iconic to the identity of ilgi. Some are more easily recognizable and "distinctly ilgi" than others, but each icon has a story closely tied to the brand. These items have shaped the brand and have contributed to the meaningful memories and identity built over the past six years.
Can you guess when and where these items were introduced?

"포장마차"
Pojangmacha, the popular old-school food and drink tents of Seoul have been a special place to bond. Whether it's trying new food while planning an event, or a full on photoshoot, Jongro 3 is stomping grounds for all things ilgi.
"T.P."
During the pandemic, the toilet paper was a rare and precious item and inspiration came from the various designs on them.
"막걸리잔"
Makgeolli is a common drink served at ilgi events. Every visit to Gwangjang Market involves a bottle, usually enjoyed while sitting next to a grandpa. It was also an honor to be invited to host a collaborative event with Hana Makgeolli in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, in May 2024.
"Namsan Tower"
An iconic structure you will surely see when you are weaving through windy streets and neighborhoods of Seoul. In November 2020, the video launching the new collection featured some nice views of Namsan Tower.
"Diary"
"ilgi" is the Korean word for "diary." Established in 2018, the label delivers on the promise of its namesake, channeling the value of documentation and reflection. The core and foundation to everything made.
"Lock"
Seen everywhere around NYC locking up trash cans, bikes, and anything else valuable, the lock was a motif used in the "Checkered Chain" print.

"고무장갑"
Seen around all the 시장's (marketplaces) in Korea, and in most households, the pink rubber gloves are iconic and distinctly Korean. The pink enamel pin was made in 2020.
"Hwatu"
After the pandemic, pop ups in Portland evolved from product launch parties into hwatu game nights. Hwatu is iconic, for ilgi has hosted about 7 hwatu nights in Portland, with one in Los Angeles, and one in Brooklyn, NY.
"紅白藍膠袋"
The red-white-blue bag, originally from Hong Kong in the 1960s is an iconic nylon plaid bag used all around NYC. With the studio located in Chinatown/LES, everyone used the bag on a daily basis. It was meaningful to include it in the photoshoot in Seoul on October 2019.
